Job summary

Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to join our team. You will handle invoicing, contract maintenance and project setup in Deltek Vantagepoint, while supporting PMs and principals with budgets and change orders.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an architecture or engineering setting, and strong Excel/Word skills. This role offers collaborative growth within a well‑established firm across multiple offices.

Qualifications

• Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
• 3+ years accounting experience; Architecture or Engineering preferred.
• Construction or professional service firms experience will be considered.
• Proficiency with accounting software, especially Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint, and Microsoft Excel/Word.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Detail-oriented problem solver with strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Invoicing in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintain contracts information and assist project budgets with PMs & Principals.
• Set up and maintain projects in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Track monthly invoices, change orders and service requests with PMs; may visit other offices.
• Assist with accounts receivable, payables and collections.
• Collaborate with clients and subcontractor accounting departments.
• Perform accounts payable and unit entry as needed.

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Project Accountant! We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated, pro‑active, has good organizational and time management skills. Prior experience with an Architecture or Engineering firm is preferred. Construction industry candidates will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for invoicing in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Maintenance of contract information, which includes, but is not limited to maintaining accurate files of client and subcontractors agreements. Will work closely with Project Managers & Principals in preparation of project budgets and other pertinent contract information.
• Responsible for setup and maintenance of projects in Deltek Vantagepoint accounting software.
• Works closely with the Project Managers tracking monthly invoices, additional service requests and change orders. This may require visiting other offices on occasion.
• Provides assistance to Project Managers and Corporate Leadership in account collections, receivables and payables.
• Works closely with clients and subcontractor’s accounting departments.
• Other accounting responsibilities may include accounts payable & unit entry.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

The base salary range for this role is indicated in the posting. This range reflects the company’s good faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location.
