Job summary

Housing Authority of the City of Aurora (AHA) is seeking a Project Accountant to support the Finance Department. Responsibilities include coordinating monthly construction draw processes, managing insurance coverage for multi-family properties, and administering reimbursement grants for case management and rental assistance within homeless programs.

The role requires a B.S. in business, accounting, or finance, with real estate operations experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in business, accounting, or finance required.
  • Real estate operations/development experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cost and financial accounting principles, practices, processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of internal control systems and procedures is important.

  • Support finance department projects including budget coordination, software improvements, problem solving, research, detailed analysis, financial statements, audit prep, and reconciliations.

The mission of the Housing Authority of the City of Aurora (AHA) is to develop and promote quality housing while supporting and encouraging economic opportunities leading to self-sufficiency and independence. AHA accomplishes this mission by providing affordable or subsidized housing at 15 different properties, administering approximately 1700 vouchers, and offering a variety of programs with case management.

Job Description
  • Supports Finance Department by performing varying degrees of analysis for multiple projects that arise from the operations of the organization.
  • Coordinate and manage monthly construction draw process for future real estate developments the organization is creating.
  • Coordinate and manage insurance coverage for various multi-family properties.
  • Coordinate and manage monthly reimbursement grants for case management and rental assistance in our homeless programs.
  • Support finance department projects including but not limited to; Budget coordination, software improvements, problem solving, research, detailed analysis, financial statements, audit prep, and reconciliations
Qualifications

  • Skill in preparing complex management reports on a timely basis. Skill in the use of personal computers and related financial and statistical software products.
  • Skill in verbal and written communication

Applicants: Please be advised that the starting pay range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 a year depending on experience.
