Job summary

gpac is partnering with a highly established Atlanta-area commercial general contractor to hire a Project Accountant to join its accounting team. The role supports multiple construction projects and works closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal accounting staff.

You will manage billing, AR, AP, vendor management, project documentation, and collaboration across multi-project environments, ensuring deadlines, accuracy, and compliant records.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Construction accounting, AP, AR, billing, or project accounting experience is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit owner billings and invoices
• Assist with AIA billing, lien waivers, sworn statements, and supporting documentation
• Track billing status and help ensure deadlines are met
• Assist with outstanding receivables and collections as needed
• Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices
• Verify coding and route invoices for approval
• Maintain required subcontractor documentation including COIs, W-9s, and lien waivers
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors regarding invoice and payment questions
• Maintain organized project accounting files and documentation
• Assist with audit requests and project closeout
• Support final billing and financial documentation
• Help ensure project files remain accurate and compliant
• Work closely with Project Managers and the accounting team
• Respond to project-related financial questions
• Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
• Support accounting processes across multiple active projects

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Accounts Receivable
