Job summary

AdventHealth in Land O Lakes, FL is actively hiring an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Critical Care team. You will assess patients, develop and adjust care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, and educate families.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, evidence-based care. The role requires RN licensure, BLS, and experience in critical care; BEKG, FCCS, CEN, and EMR knowledge (Cerner/EPIC) are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's of Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
  • RN licensure required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience in critical care preferred.
  • Cerner/EPIC EMR knowledge preferred.

Job Description:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.
