Job summary

AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is seeking a registered nurse to join our critical care team. You will assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, educate families, and collaborate with the care team to deliver safe, compassionate care.

We value teamwork, professional growth, and adherence to high standards. Florida RN licensing and BLS are required, with Cerner/EPIC experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing required.
  • RN license and state-board certification.
  • Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.

Job Description:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self‑care strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
  • Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • * Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high‑quality care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to life‑threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.

  • EKG knowledge (based on patient population; see document EKG and Advanced Life Support Requirements) [Required]
  • Previous experience with Cerner Electronic Medical Record [Preferred]
  • Previous EKG Interpretation Class [Preferred]
  • EPIC [Preferred]
Education:
  • Associate's of Nursing [Required]

  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) [Preferred]
  • NonViolent Crisis Intervention Program [Preferred]
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program - Advanced (NRP-A) [Preferred]
  • Instructor PALS (PALS‑INSTR) [Preferred]
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. certification [Preferred]
  • Trauma Nurse course Certification (TNCC) [Preferred]
