Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced registered nurse for our 11-bed Progressive Care Unit, delivering intermediate-level monitoring and patient-centered care. The role leverages a strong clinical team, including virtual nursing support, to maintain high standards and safety.

You will participate in governance, evidence-based practice, and professional development, while maintaining accurate electronic health records and effective communication within a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services.
• BLS certification required or as specified by specialty.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to improve outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units as needed to meet patient care needs.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and maintains professional standards.
