Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center is seeking a Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for patients with acute or chronic conditions requiring close monitoring. The PCU RN will work nights (12-hour shifts) in Gadsden, AL, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes and smooth transitions to lower levels of care.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and nursing interventions.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license is required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate is a plus and should be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in acute care hospital and ventilator management preferred.
• BSN strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments of patients including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological, and respiratory status.
• Monitor patients using telemetry and other devices; promptly respond to deterioration.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Perform nursing interventions such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning, and oxygen therapy.
• Adhere to evidence-based practice, hospital policies, infection control, and safety protocols.

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 12-hour 7:00PM - 7:00AM ($4 - $8 shift differential)

Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center, Gadsden, AL

We are seeking a P rogressive Care Registered Nurse or PCU RN will provide specialized care to patients with acute and/or chronic medical conditions who require close monitoring, i ntervention, and support to optimize their outcomes and facilitate their transition to lower levels of care.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• C onduct assessments of patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, respiratory status, and overall clinical stability, you will need to monitor changes in patients' conditions and respond promptly to any deterioration
• U tilize telemetry and other monitoring devices to continuously monitor patients' cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation levels, blood pressure, and other parameters you must be able to recognize and interpret abnormalities in monitoring data
• A dminister medications as directed by physicians, encompassing intravenous medications, antibiotics, pain management medications, and cardiac medications, while vigilantly monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or side effects
• P erform nursing interventions and treatments as ordered by physicians, such as wound care, catheter care, suctioning, and administration of oxygen therapy, which may include assisting with procedures
• A dhere to evidence-based practice guidelines, hospital policies, and protocols related to patient care, infection control, and safety

Qualifications

• C urrent and valid state RN License
• C urrent BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current

• P revious Acute Care hospital experience
