Job summary

TriStar Summit Medical Center is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care. Working with medical providers, you will provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

You will assess patients on admission and during shifts, perform procedures, document care, administer medications, and maintain knowledge of cardiac‑related care and equipment.

Qualifications

• RN license
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• BCLS CPR within 30 days of start date
• ACLS within 30 days of hire
• NIHSS Stroke Certification within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; report changes
• Perform procedures or functions as ordered by the medical provider
• Document administration of care in electronic medical records
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical‑surgical patients

TriStar Summit is a 230+ bed comprehensive facility located in Davidson, Wilson and surrounding counties. We include a Level III Trauma Center, a Primary Stroke Center, an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI, and offer a full array of acute care services including cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics/spine, rehabilitation and women's services.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Bachelors Degree preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of hire
• NIHSS Stroke Certification within 30 days of hire
