OPERA America is seeking a Programs Department team member to support planning, implementation, and coordination of on-site and off-site events. The role includes production support, grant facilitation, visa administration, and exhibition curation assistance at the National Opera Center in New York City.

Responsibilities

  • Production Support: Provide production assistance for all live and virtual events, including stage management and other logistical support as needed.
  • Grantmaking: Assist with the facilitation of grant program events and activities.
  • Visa: Support administration of Visa Consultation Letters for Professional Company Members.
  • 7 th & 8 th Floor Gallery : Assist Chief Programs Officer with the curation and implementation of exhibitions in the National Opera Center.
  • Conference Planning: Serve as a key member of the production team for the annual conference, sharing responsibilities for logistics management with the Artistic Operations Manager to ensure a successful event.
  • Script building: Work with the Chief Programs Officer and the Director of Leadership and Learning to build scripts and workflows for the annual conference.
  • Office Management: Handle general office administration tasks, including responding to listserv and Programs Team distribution questions, ensuring event supplies are stocked, and facilitating payments for guest artists, speakers, and other vendors.
  • Communication Facilitation: Ensure effective communication between OPERA America departments to meet event and program requirements, fostering collaboration and information sharing.
  • Programs networks: Provide logistical and administrative support pertaining to the scheduling and execution of the various networks within the programs department. (PDN/AA, GD, EDU/CE)
  • Departmental Support: Providing support to all members of the Programs Department, including the Chief Programs Officer, Director of Learning and Leadership, Senior Manager for Artistic Programs, and Artistic Operations Manager.

DESCRIPTION
POSITION OVERVIEW

Department: Programs

Job Purpose:

To support the Programs Department of OPERA America in the planning, implementation, and coordination of various on-site and off-site events, while providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities

BENEFITS

Pay Range: $60,000 - $60,000 Annual

Compensation and Benefits

This is a salaried non-exempt position with an annual salary of $60,000 . This position is eligible for overtime as required . Benefits include health and dental coverage, a retirement plan , paid time off, life insurance, access to rehearsal and performance venues at the National Opera Center, and opportunities to network with opera leaders nationwide. OPERA America staff work on a hybrid schedule from the organization’s New York City offices.
