Job summary

Menards Inc. in Eau Claire, WI offers a Developer Internship that gives students real-world development experience while maintaining a flexible part-time schedule to fit classes.

Interns participate in the full development lifecycle, work with a Software Engineer mentor, and assist with documentation, change requests, and QA testing. The role requires 15-20 hours weekly, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, and is flexible to school commitments.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a college/university pursuing an Associate or Bachelor degree in Software Design, Software Development, Computer Science, or Computer Programming.
• Knowledge of the JAVA programming language JSPs, Servlets, EJBs, Spring, Object Oriented Design.
• Familiarity with XML, Eclipse, Android Studio and Visual Studio is helpful.
• Excellent design and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Capable of working on both individual and team-oriented projects.
• Must be able to work in Eau Claire, WI for the duration of the internship.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications for Menards stores and external web sites, primarily using Java.
• Work through the entire development lifecycle, creating program specifications through coding, implementation, and testing.
• Create test plans and thoroughly test and debug all programs prior to implementation.
• Provide weekly status updates on current projects.
• Work with stores, help desk, and technical support Team Members to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of User's operations to facilitate communication.
• Identify problem trends pro-actively.
• Execute action plan(s).
• Follow established processes for problem handling and resolution.
• Maintain information confidentiality and security.
• Protect, prevent and report all unauthorized attempts to obtain corporate information.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Developer Internshipprovides students avaluable experience with real world applications while being able to work a part-time, flexible schedule to fit your educational needs. Interns will beinvolved throughout the entire development life cycle of an applicationand work on identifying and analyzing anyproblems with the help of a Software Engineer mentor.
