Job description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Programming, and working closely with the Associate Vice President and Associate Director, the Programming Coordinator provides critical research and programming administration support for all corporate programming to ensure team goals are met.

This full-time position will be based in CFR’s Washington office at least three days per week. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are considered institutional anchor days where all staff are required to be onsite. Effective Monday, September 14, 2026, CFR employees will be based on-site at least four days per week. CFR’s remote working schedule is subject to change.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Programming, and working closely with the Associate Vice President and Associate Director to assist with the development and execution of corporate programming (virtual and in-person roundtables, conferences, special events, etc.) on topics at the nexus of business and policy for senior executives from leading global companies and experts from the business community.
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate programs, including the conceptualization of meeting topics, research and development of proposals, and management of the logistics lifecycle from speaker coordination to event-day and follow-up responsibilities.
  • Research and remain current on relevant topics and regions for member companies and prospect member companies.
  • Assist with and execute marketing initiatives for the department, including but not limited to: developing content for, editing, and distributing select monthly newsletters for corporate members; monitoring and updating the public-facing business and foreign policy hub on the CFR website; and working with the member relations team to consistently refresh marketing and outreach documents.
  • Draft correspondence including meeting invitations and speaker’s logistics materials and provide administrative support to the programming team.
  • Provide occasional coverage for the email and phone line for the Corporate Program, serving as an initial point of contact for executives from corporate member companies.
  • Extensive use of the membership database, including updating contact information and profiles, tracking speaking invitations and event attendance, writing and executing queries, and generating database reports.
  • Work closely with all Corporate and CEO Programs team members and other departments in support of overall departmental and institutional priorities and provide assistance across departmental lines upon request.
  • Staff Corporate and CEO Programs events as well as meetings hosted by other departments, as needed.
  • Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Degree in international relations, international business, or a related field
  • A minimum of3 years’ relevant experience, preferably at a non-profit organization or in the private sector.

Related Skills & Other Requirements

  • Knowledge of international relations, business, and economics.
  • Excellent communication skills, including exceptional writing, attention to detail, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Experience in event planning and logistics preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Dynamics database management experience a plus, and the aptitude to learn and utilize different technologies.
  • Flexible schedule with willingness to work early morning and evening events.

Compensation and Benefits
  • The full-time annual compensation range for this position is $65,000-$73,000, depending on experience.
