Job summary

Senior Living Residences’ Heights Crossing community in Brockton, MA is seeking a part-time programming associate to engage residents through daily activities, coordinate entertainment, and support outings across the week. The role welcomes applicants with related degrees and 1+ year experience in elder care.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and transfer residents.

Responsibilities

  • Form meaningful relationships with residents and families.
  • Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily programming schedule for 7 days per week.
  • Support with coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors.
  • Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site.
  • Support with developing monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS:

Part Time: Saturday and Sunday, 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM

PAY & BENEFITS:

Rates start at $17 per hour

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred. Must have 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations.
  • Physical requirements : Standing, sitting, bending, and transferring residents (with and without assistance)
  • Communication: An ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers
  • Punctuality & reliability – Our residents rely on us to assist them with their daily living activities and we expect our associates to deliver on this promise.
