Job summary

Cornerstone at Canton in Canton, MA is seeking a Programming Assistant to help implement and coordinate therapeutic programs for memory care residents. The role supports the Program Director with scheduling, events, and family outreach, in a safe, home-like environment.

This part-time position offers weekend shifts (Friday-Saturday 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM) with benefits starting at hire and opportunities for professional development in dementia care.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred.
• Must have 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations.
• Standing, sitting, bending, and transferring residents (with and without assistance).
• Communication: An ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers.
• Punctuality & reliability – Our residents rely on us to assist them with their daily living activities.

Responsibilities

• Form meaningful relationships with residents and families.
• Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily therapeutic programming schedule for 7 days per week.
• Support with coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors.
• Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site.
• Assist with support group and educational sessions for families and staff.
• Support with developing monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media.
