Job summary

HDR, Inc. is leading a multi-disciplinary A&E team assigned to the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The Programmer Lead role focuses on facility programming, budgeting, and compliance with AF criteria, with on-site work required at USAFA.

The position supports engineering, planning, and funding missions for a long-term program. Ideal candidates will have extensive AFCE experience, strong communication, and ability to coordinate with HQ and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related fields (preferably engineering, architecture, or construction).
• Minimum of 10 years experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry.
• Ability to interact and work alongside daily with various stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to submit and pass a background check.
• Active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for managing the Facility AMP and coordinate project authorizations independently.
• Leverage AFI 32-1032 and AFI 32-1023 for planning and programming maintenance and construction projects.
• Develop rough order of magnitude construction cost estimates using government software.
• Prepare required documentation (1391s, ROMs) and coordinate funding timelines.
• Provide guidance for BCAMP development and funding justification.
• Assist with pre-acquisition documentation for FSRM and MILCON projects.
