This role emphasizes design and hands-on implementation of microservice-oriented architectures with Azure data services. The candidate will shape architecture, review code, and collaborate with PMs, SMEs, and DevOps to ensure secure, scalable solutions for government and enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience.
• 7+ years SQL Server development.
• 5+ years .NET/C# backend development.
• 3-5 years as a technical lead guiding engineering teams.
• 3+ years modernization or migration projects.
• 3+ years Azure SQL on IaaS VM environments.
• 3+ years building ADF pipelines for ETL workloads.
• 3+ years supporting delivery and agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead collaborative technical design discussions for microservices, database restructuring, and API integration.
• Provide hands-on SQL engineering including schema modernization, stored procedures, views, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Support .NET API development for backend services and data access patterns.
• Guide senior engineering talent with strong technical leadership.
• Collaborate with PM/Scrum Master to support project execution and decision-making.
• Work with SME for technical alignment and domain expertise.
• Build migration logic and data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).

YSI is seeking a Technical Lead (SQL/.Net) Programmer Analyst to support VDOT. This individual would provide functional leadership, hands-on SQL and .NET engineering, and collaborative solution design. This individual partners closely with the PM/Scrum Master, veteran SME, and technical team to decompose the monolithic database into microservice-aligned schemas. The role includes SQL engineering, architecture participation, code reviews, documentation reviews, and strong cross-team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
