Central Criminal Records ensure statutes, policies, and procedures governing the creation, retention, organization, reproduction, and archiving of inmate records are accurately applied and that records and information dealing with inmates confined within the department and the jails are accurately kept and maintained. This position ensures proper retention and conversion of inmate records (Criminal and Court & Legal). It serves as a liaison to Institutional Records Staff in providing guidance on records management and the appropriate disposition of inmate records. They maintain accurate audits of records maintained by Central Criminal Records. This position also supports Central Criminal Records in the reviewing, researching, and responding to requests for inmate records information by following all applicable State, Federal, Local and Departmental guidelines.
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Experience with Microsoft Office Applications. Prior office experience. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, work independently, analyze and resolve problems with minimal supervision. Ability to hand sensitive information and maintain accurate records.
Experience working with inmate records, Virginia CORIS, microfilm, and digital records resources. Prior experience working in a records office. Prior experience working in a records office.
