Position Summary

The Family Preservation Program Supervisor coordinates and evaluates the day-to-day implementation of the overall family preservation program. The Program Supervisor assists the Program Director in ensuring that the treatment staff develops, implements, and monitors effective treatment programs that maximize high rates of successful program completion. The Program Supervisor will develop new procedures and revise existing ones to ensure continuous program quality and regulatory compliance. The Program Supervisor participates in the administration of assigned management functions.

Treatment Team

To ensure the treatment team approach will be utilized as needed in providing Family Preservation services, the Program Supervisor will:

• Assure compliance with all state, county, agency, and program requirements;
• Provide clinical supervision and support to Master's and Bachelor’s level Family Specialists providing support services to children and families;
• Accept referrals of families from appropriate county agencies;
• Monitor services, case records, and required paperwork to conform to state regulations;
• Assume responsibility for monitoring units/service time for billing and regulatory purposes;
• Develop a cooperative working relationship with other child-serving agencies.
• Lead the treatment team consisting of self and a secondary worker;
• Coordinate all services provided to the family;
• Maintain weekly communication with the Program Director regarding each family.

Service Plans

To ensure that dispositions of service plans are made in a timely manner, the Program Supervisor will:

• Work with families to increase parent knowledge and skills in working with the children;
• Improve family members’ use of communication skills;
• Increase family members’ awareness of community resources and local community treatment services;
• Design interventions that will increase the ability of all family members to manage stress, providing situations at home and in the community;
• Be cognizant of and responsive to the needs of the family;
• Coordinate all activities related to the design of the initial intervention plan;
• Coordinate the service review process;
• Recommend discharge and follow-up plans.

Supervision

To ensure that staff are competent and committed to the agency's values and principles, the Program Supervisor will:

• Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and training of potential new employees.
• Provide both formal and informal training for assigned staff. Training should be individualized, specialized, and ongoing.
• Develop action plans and conduct performance evaluations for assigned staff for continued professional development. Develop corrective action plans, with the Program Director's support, as needed.
• Maintain regular contact with assigned staff to ensure open lines of communication and provide both verbal and written feedback.
• Process all critical incidents with staff to provide feedback and/or support.

Compliance

To ensure staff’s overall compliance with program policies, procedures and practices, the Program Supervisor will:

• Oversee and hold staff accountable to the systems developed to ensure compliance with documentation of all Program activities.
• Oversee staff practices to ensure compliance with regulations and adherence to Pressley Ridge policy, procedure, values, and standards of professional and ethical conduct.

Documentation and Record Keeping

• Complete all required paperwork.
• Complete written work that is legible, accurate, and uses professional language, and meets timelines for submitting paperwork established by the program and organization.
• Use written documentation to communicate effectively with peers, subordinates, and supervisors.

Professional Development

To assure the continuing development of professional skills, the Program Supervisor will:

• Participate in regularly scheduled in-service programs at the agency.
• With the Program Director's approval, periodically attend local, state, or national conferences and workshops.

Essential Qualifications
