The Unified Government Public Health Department seeks a CHIP Program Supervisor to lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of Wyandotte County's CHIP. The role supervises the Violence Prevention and Substance Misuse Coordinators and partners with leaders to ensure best practices and sustainability.

Responsibilities include securing funding, coordinating with diverse stakeholders, preparing reports and presentations, and guiding project planning and evaluation to improve community health

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MPH preferred.
  • 2 years in community work/nonprofit/government/health/etc.
  • 1 year supervisory experience.
  • Grant writing/management experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and office equipment.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) Program Supervisor leads the Unified Government Public Health Department's efforts in planning, implementing, and evaluating the Wyandotte County CHIP. This role supervises the Violence Prevention and Substance Misuse Coordinators. The supervisor will ensure that operations comply with policies and procedures and guide the team on best practices for project planning, evaluation, and collective impact strategies. The role requires fostering partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, elected officials, and other Unified Government departments, to address the social determinants of health. The Supervisor will lead efforts to secure funding for CHIP priorities and work to maintain sustainability across initiatives. They will also provide regular reports and presentations to community partners and leaders. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration experience, communication skills, and commitment to public health improvement in Wyandotte County. It is a grant-funded position through a partnership with a local health foundation, which is renewed annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree; Master of Public Health preferred. Two (2) years of work experience in community work, nonprofit, government, health, mobilization, or another relevant field and one (1) year of formal or informal supervisory experience. Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies. Grant writing and/or grant management experience. Requires knowledge of computer skills (Microsoft Office) and office equipment.

$30.51 - 41.64 per hour
