HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Program Supervisor 1provides leadership and operational oversight for an assigned supportive housing program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centered services that help residents overcome barriers to housing stability and successfully transition from homelessness to permanent housing. In partnership with the Program Manager, the Program Supervisor supports the development, enhancement, and coordination of program services, facility operations, and community partnerships to strengthen outcomes for program participants.
This position balances direct program oversight with administrative responsibilities, including supervising and supporting direct service staff, managing staff schedules and shift coverage, overseeing HMIS data quality and compliance, and providing guidance on case management practices. The Program Supervisor fosters a collaborative, trauma-informed environment that promotes resident engagement, staff development, and service excellence. All duties are performed in alignment withCompassHousing Alliance’s mission, values, and philosophy of care.
ShorelineVeterans Programprovides permanent supportive housing and comprehensive support services for veterans experiencing homelessness or housing instability in King County. The program offers 25 units of housing in a safe, stable, and welcoming environment designed to promote long-term housing retention and improved quality of life. Through individualized case management, resource coordination, and access to community-based services, residents receive the support needed to achieve greater independence, wellness, and housing stability. Services are delivered by a skilled and compassionate multidisciplinary team committed to honoring veterans’ strengths, fostering resilience, and helping each resident reach their personal goals.
SCHEDULE :Monday, Tuesday,Friday9am-5:30pm,Wednesday& Thursday 10am-6:30pmplus eveningsand weekends as needed foremergenciesand staff supervision
Program Coordination
- Coordinate daily operations ofprogram.
- Liaise andcommunicate with partnered support services such aslocal foodbank, OSL, CEA, Shelterprovidersand others.
- Liaise with local community service providers, City staff and King County staff and programs in facilitation ofparticipant referrals.
- Preparetimelyandaccuratemonthly, quarterly, and annual statistics as required by funders and theagency.
- Know and understand the contracts andensurecompliancewithcontractsisbeing met.
- Provide supportive crisis counseling and case managementsupportto programparticipantsas needed.
- With Program Manager,assure the maintenance of all necessary logs, records, reports, and statistics.
- Participate in ongoing training and program development.
- Train and ensure the enforcement of program policies and agency rules.
- Work in conjunction with other Compass programs to supportthe agency'smission.
Staffing
- Hire, train, and superviseshift ProgramAssistants,both regular and relief, to ensure effective delivery of trauma-informed services.
- Develop schedule and ensure shift coverage.
- Provide leadership support to all programstaff.
- Serve as the first point of contact for staff call outs and no shows, which may require finding relief coverage or covering the shift yourself.
- Manage staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage to provide service delivery.
- Provide regular supervision to the Program Assistants along with staff meetings.
Participation in Service Delivery
- In support of the program,workwith Program Manager and the Housing Services Directorsto helpfacilitateprogram improvements and developments including staffing decisions, and auxiliary services.
- Build andmaintaina network of community providers and services to addressguestneeds, serving asliaisonwith referring agencies.
- Provide and model de-escalation and crisis intervention, developing a supportive milieu.Function asa model for front-line staff.
- Perform daily activities as needed to keepthe programrunning smoothly.

- Supervisory duties include the following: interview, hire, and train staff; plan,assignand direct work;monitorperformance; provide recognition to staff; provide coach/counseling and discipline, when necessary; address complaints and resolve problems.
HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT:
- Competency in harm reduction, motivational interviewing, and trauma informed care as well as counseling, advocacy, and referral services.
- Demonstrated competency in organizing and leading teams as well as coordinating, supervising, and directing the work of others.
- Knowledgeofprogram servicesandlocal resources for individuals who areexperiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, as well as the ability to develop a network of providers to servethe needsof agency clients.
- Ability to coordinate,superviseand direct the work of others to achieve results.
- Demonstrated ability tomaintaina caseload, provide case management, crisis counseling, advocacy, and referral services to clients.
- Knowledge of best practices in de-escalation, crisis intervention, and stabilization skills.
- Ability to follow agency policy and procedures tomaintainsafety and security within the facility.
- Ability to enter data accurately; create log entries and case notes;prepare written reports and generate statistical reports.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse economic circumstances, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, physical and mental abilities, and sexual orientation.

- Minimumof2years’experience in ahuman servicesetting dealing withtopicsofhousing instabilityor supportive housing, mentalhealth, substance use, employmentinsecurity, domestic violence,required.
- A minimum of1years’ experiencein direct supervision/management of people,preferred.
- Aminimumof2years' experiencein case managementor a direct service role serving those living unsheltered,preferred.
- Awareness and/or training around belonging, compassion, and meeting people where theyare,preferred.
- Experience working in an environment where language may be a barrier,preferred.
- Current WAState Food Handlers Permit,preferred(If not current, will be sponsored within 1-month of hire).
- Valid WA driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a driving record that meets Compass standards,required.
- Work experience is a key factorforsuccess in this role. In addition, success in this role requires a passion for knowledge and drive for continuing professional development or education. A degree in social work or related field would be a complement to the required experience.
