Job summary

Youth Guidance Greater Pittsburgh invites applications for a Program Supervisor to oversee a team of 5–7 direct service staff and coordinate youth programs across multiple sites. You will supervise, coach, and evaluate staff while ensuring delivery of contract obligations and high-quality outcomes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, five years’ experience in youth services, and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, or related field.
  • Minimum five years of work experience in education, human service, youth development, or social service field.
  • Minimum of one-year supervisory experience required; two years preferred.
  • Youth Engagement experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for culturally sensitive teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with program staff to coordinate, implement, and evaluate all program activities and outcomes.
  • Recommends hiring, transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions, terminations, and other performance management decisions for direct service staff.
  • Manages performance by evaluating and developing staff to support curriculum implementation and professional growth.
  • Recruit youth and build relationships with school administrators and community groups; manage annual program budget and promote curriculum activities.
  • Ensure program documentation and stakeholder reports are completed on time.
  • Provide weekly supervision and guidance on responsibilities, prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Oversee quality and quantity of work to meet contract deliverables.

Position Summary:Under general direction from the Executive Director of Youth Guidance Greater Pittsburgh, the Program Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision, feedback, and support to 5-7 Direct Service Program Staff.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Collaborates with the Program Replication Specialists to coordinate, implement, and evaluate all program activities and outcomes.Recommends hiring, transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions, terminations, and other performance management decisions for direct service program staff.Manages performance by evaluating and developing direct service program staff to support effective curriculum implementation and professional growth.Collaborates with direct service program staff and the Executive Director to recruit youth, build relationships with school administrators, and administration, manage the annual program budget, and more.Collaborates with Executive Director to promote all supplementary curriculum activities to program participants.Maintains focus on the achievement of key program outcomes and ensures all programs are on track for desired metrics, including goals for student performance, retention, and satisfaction.Administers the program by assessing needs, making assignments, and managing programs at multiple sites where the program operates.Accountable for meeting specific deliverables for all contracts related to identified program areas.Responsible for quality and quantity of work to ensure contract deliverables.Serves as the primary contact for ongoing communication with school personnel, social service agencies, community groups, and public officials about program goals and objectives.
