Job Title: Program Supervisor - Social Services Department

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Program Supervisor in San Antonio, Texas.

Job Summary

Supervise and monitor the day-to-day operations of the assigned program activities. Evaluate program operations and services. Supervise all program staff, including scheduling, reporting, and record keeping. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. Respond to program operation questions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of social service program development and administration principles.
  • Knowledge of personnel and business management practices.
  • Knowledge of client assessment, case planning, management, and referrals.
  • Knowledge of community social service resources and agencies.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, supervise, and evaluate staff.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and enforce program policies.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during crises.
  • Ability to build professional relationships with clients and agencies.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution. At least two years of responsible experience in social service program administration, including one year of supervisory experience. Equivalent training and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Conduct duties in accordance with the organization's Christian principles and professionalism.
  • Physical activities include seated work, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting (<25 lbs.), 5-10% of the time.
