Under the supervision of the Program Manager - AE, the Program Specialist helps direct the day-to-day activities and services provided. The Program Specialist has responsibility along with the Program Manager to assist with the achievement of the established goals of the program.
A master's degree or above from an accredited college or university and 1 year of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities.
OR
A bachelor's degree and 2 years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities.
OR
An associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities.
Previous experience in an adult day program or adult recreational setting preferred. Experience working with people with physical and other disabilities preferred.
Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken language. Effective organizational skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Computer skills including Word processing and database applications helpful. Must be able to accommodate travel to remote locations, which are not near public transportation. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to lift 50 lbs independently.
