The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.

This position will be located at 1730 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, Missouri, 65101. Work hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • This position works with the State’s 20 Solid Waste Management Districts (SWMDs) on Financial Audits, Performance Audits, and provides technical assistance on financial questions and implementation of rules and statutes.
  • Reviews and analyzes grant applications from SWMDs to ensure completeness and compliance with solid waste management law, regulations.
  • Complete Biennial Financial Monitoring for SWMDs receiving less than $250,000 of Solid Waste funding annually.
  • Assist with development and implementation of Qualtrics reporting system, make changes when needed along with Training new users/planners on completing these surveys for submission.
  • Attend conferences or webinars on recycling, waste reduction, composting, scrap tire, or other relevant topics to help the team member become a subject matter expert.
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
  • Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.
  • Grants Management Laws, Regulations, and Guidelines: Knowledge of principles, laws, regulations, policies, practices, and guidelines (for example, Executive Orders, Code of Federal Regulations, OMB circulars) of grant or agreement programs, including their order of precedence.
  • Analysis and Assessment: Uses information technology in accessing, collecting, analyzing, maintaining, and disseminating data and information.
  • Flexibility: Is open to change and new information; rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.
Equivalent To Those Typically Gained By
  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of relevant experience. (Additional education or experience may substitute for the required education or experience)
