Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education seeks a Program Specialist to oversee Family & Consumer Sciences Education programs. You will provide leadership, develop instructional strategies, and support teachers and administrators to assure program quality.

This exempt, full-time role requires a bachelor’s degree (teaching certification preferred), several years of teaching or admin experience, and the ability to travel within the state to support districts and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Teaching certification preferred (Family and Consumer Sciences).
  • Three years of teaching or admin experience or equivalent industry experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service support for the FCS experiences in the assigned region.
  • Provide technical support, consultation, and individualized assistance for instructors, coordinators, and administrators.
  • Plan, develop, and implement programs to meet career and technology education needs.
  • Conduct program evaluations to ensure quality and drive improvements.
  • Plan and deliver high-impact professional development training for teachers and staff.
  • Coach new teachers to help them transition into the profession.
  • Participate in committees and advisory boards and help develop policies.
  • Monitor trends for relevance and student employability.
