Kentucky Association for Environmental Education seeks a proactive Program Specialist to support KAEE events, programs, and facilities from a remote location in Kentucky. This role reports to the Deputy Director and emphasizes coordination, database management, and conference exhibitions.
The ideal candidate has experience in program management, education, or natural resources, strong Google Workspace skills, and excellent communication. Some travel may be required.

This is not an educator position. It is primarily a behind-the-scenes program delivery position. The Program Specialist will report to and support KAEE’s Deputy Director on our various events and programs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys event coordination, program and database management, and some exhibiting at conferences and events. The majority of this work will take place remotely, on a computer.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Assist with the Kentucky Green Schools program and our district-level professional development program.
Serve as state coordinator for Project WILD.
Exhibit and present at various partner events.
Assist in the launch and management of KAEE’s Green Career Pathways website.
Assist with event planning and coordination for our various events such as our Conference, Early Learning Symposium, Outdoor Learning Workshops, Green Career Summits, etc.
Coordinate KAEE’s annual awards program.
Assist with guide orders, database tracking, and reporting requirements for KAEE programs.
Assist with management of the eeFacilitator Network and curriculum programs, and the eeCredentials program.
Support KAEE Action Teams.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for our mission. They will be highly proficient in Google Workspace and be able to pick up new software easily. They will work well as part of a remote team and be content spending much of their time on a computer. This position will require a self-starter with strong networking and interpersonal skills; experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds; excellent spelling, grammar, typing, and organizational skills; and strong attention to detail. We are seeking a candidate with a background and experience in program management, education, or a natural resource-related field. Some nights, weekends, and travel will be required. Must reside in Kentucky.
Full-time, exempt position working 40 hours per week. KAEE values work-life balance and offers a flexible, family-friendly schedule, including compensatory time up to 120 hours for additional hours worked. Benefits include 10 days of vacation time, 12 days of sick leave, and 14 paid holidays per year. Additional benefits include healthcare or a health reimbursement of $150/month and up to a 3% match for a SIMPLE IRA retirement plan. Reimbursement will be provided for costs incurred during work-related travel.
