Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) is seeking a Program Safety Advisor for Management of Change (MoC) within the Safety Management System (SMS). The role leads the MoC process, guides implementation with stakeholders, and ensures changes to worker safety are evaluated and planned prior to execution.

You’ll support safety culture transformation, injury reduction, and collaboration with Safety leaders, OU leaders, and partners.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience in health, safety, or compliance programs, activities, or systems.
• Certification in Risk Management.
• Experience leading Management of Change.
• Experience working for the utility industry.
• Experience implementing a Safety Management System.
• Experience presenting recommendations and other communications regularly to all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to enterprise-wide safety programs and initiatives, identifies opportunities and develops new processes and programs to support Edison Safety strategic objectives.
• Evaluates and provides recommendations in such areas as safety culture, safety management systems, strategy and explains facts, practices and policies to internal or external partners.
• Collaborates to establish project objectives, timelines, risk analysis, milestones, deliverables and budgets; follows tasks and schedule necessary for successful project execution.
• Develops safety programs, policies and procedure for the enterprise after consultation with all levels of management; exercises broad judgement and discretion in determining methods, processes, activities, and courses of action which have a significant impact on project success.
• Assists team to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Works with OU leadership to influence major initiatives and implements strategic projects. Develops and presents materials and reports to local company leadership.
• Conducts training and presentations related to Safety projects and programs. Provides guidance about work activities to colleagues.

Join the Clean Energy Revolution Become a Program Safety Advisor for Management of Change (MoC) in the Safety Management System (SMS) department at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be responsible for leading the MoC process for the SMS team, ensuring changes related to worker safety are effectively implemented and do not introduce new risks or gaps to the organization.

The advisor in this role will be the SMS MoC subject matter expert and will guide the implementation of the MoC process with key stakeholders. The MoC process ensures that changes that can impact worker safety are defined, evaluated, and properly planned prior to implementation. They will partner and collaborate with Safety leaders, consultants, subject matter experts, OU leaders, and key partners to ensure they are following the MoC process as intended. The advisor will ensure that every change is carefully evaluated, planned, reviewed, approved, communicated, and controlled prior to execution.

This advisor will also contribute to the broader safety culture transformation, serious injury and fatality elimination and overall injury reduction.

Minimum Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience in health, safety, or compliance programs, activities, or systems.

Additional Information

• This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
