Job summary

Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center seeks a Program/Research Assistant to support health promotion activities. The role involves assisting with research tasks, participant recruitment, data collection, tracking and data entry, and delivering health education related to study activities.

You will work within funded program directives and the local community network, coordinating events and activities while adhering to research ethics and cultural considerations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associate degree in health-related field or certificate.
• Certificate of completion for foundational training on human subjects research within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year of experience in community programs and/or research.
• Knowledge of community-based participatory research approach preferred.
• Knowledge of Native Hawaiian culture preferred.

Program/Research Assistant

Salary Range: $18.00 To $20.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting with research-related activities including, but not limited to participant recruitment, data collection, tracking and data entry. Other duties also include providing health education pertaining to the research activities and providing programmatic support for Health Promotion department programs, events and activities. This position is expected to work within the program directives of the funding source, within the philosophical framework set forth by the `Elepaio Social Services Board of Directors, and within the existing network of community services providers and natural helpers.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum Associate degree in Health related field or certificate in health required, Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Sustainable Food Systems/Health related field preferred
• Certificate of completion for a foundational training on human subjects research required within 90 days of hire
• At least 1 year of experience in community programs and/or research preferred
• Knowledge of community based participatory research approach preferred
• Knowledge of Native Hawaiian culture preferred
