You will help promote CHSS programs through events, campus visits, and presentations, while sharing an authentic student experience with prospective students and families. The role requires strong Microsoft 365 skills, solid communication, and the ability to work evenings and weekends in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Local Phoenix area students year-round preferred and available for breaks.
  • Experience in the specific college being hired for is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and University supported programs.
  • Organized, task-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain relationships through effective interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications, strong English language skills, and clear stakeholder communications.
  • Good attention to detail, analytical and networking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in high-volume, high-demand environment with changing priorities.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and deliver program-specific information for CHSS recruitment.
  • Deliver content through presentations for admissions activities (Discover GCU, GCU Day, GCU Live).
  • Assist staff with content on organized campus tours for students, families, and school personnel.
  • Provide program information to prospective students/families via calls, webinars, social media, and other formats.
  • Record and input notes to recruiting systems to track efforts.
  • Share knowledge with other student workers across departments.
  • Coordinate with supervisor and adapt plans for evenings and weekends.
  • Work with provided equipment like laptop, CRM, Zoom, and Office 365.

The purpose of this position is to assist in in promoting the growth of the CHSS through recruit-facing events, conversations, tour and presentations on GCU’s campus, while providing a first‑hand account of the GCU student experience.

Position Summary / Purpose

The purpose of this position is to assist in in promoting the growth of the CHSS through recruit-facing events, conversations, tour and presentations on GCU’s campus, while providing a first‑hand account of the GCU student experience.

Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Essential Functions
  • Learn, understand, and deliver program-specific information for the CHSS, covering degree programs specific to ground traditional recruitment.
  • Deliver program-specific content through presentations for admissions activities not limited to but including Discover GCU, GCU Day, GCU Live, etc., which may require set-up and tear-down.
  • Assists GCE and GCU staff with program‑specific content on organized tours for students, parents, administration, and other school‑related personnel.
  • Provides program‑specific information to potential students / families through scheduled phone appointments, webinars, social media and other mixed media formats.
  • Collect and input administrative notations to recruiting systems to track efforts.
  • Assists in providing additional programmatic knowledge to lateral co‑student workers in other departments that are recruit‑facing.
  • Keeps direct supervisor informed of progress and potential issues and makes recommendations to ensure plans are well coordinated and synchronized.
  • Often will be responsible for working evenings and weekends.
Equipment Used And Responsibility

Interns will be provided with a GCE Laptop / Surface to complete work‑related tasks and strategies. Interns will also work with the following programs and equipment provided:

  • Jabber (to include headset)
  • CRM
  • LopeNet
  • Microsoft 365 Suite – Outlook / PPT / Excel / Word
  • Workday
  • Zoom
  • Calendly
  • Golf Carts for occasional golf cart tours.
Qualifications
  • Students local to the Phoenix area year‑round & willingness/desire to work over breaks strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the specific college being hired for is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and University supported programs.
  • Organized, task‑oriented, and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.

Experience / Education

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full‑time student in a Bachelor’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
