Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Program Planning Analyst / Scheduler to join the Scheduling Center of Excellence in the Mission Systems (MS) Sector. The role involves developing, maintaining, and analyzing the IMS, coordinating with PMs, Engineering, Operations and Business Management to ensure timely program execution.

The candidate will work with Control Account Managers to decompose scope, identify dependencies, analyze forecast impacts, and contribute to risk assessments and status reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with related work experience or 6 years of applied experience in lieu of degree
  • Some planning/scheduling related experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance is required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, maintain, and analyze an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for programs
  • Interface with Program Managers, Engineering, Operations, and Business Management
  • Decompose program scope into defined tasks and identify dependencies
  • Forecast impacts and evaluate critical paths
  • Develop estimates to complete based on resource requirements and schedule status updates
  • Ensure compliance with EVMS guidelines and prepare program status reports

What You’ll Get To Do

The Program Planning Analyst /Scheduler will be hired directly into our Scheduling Center of Excellence and placed on programs within the Mission Systems (MS) Sector. The MS Scheduling organization focuses on skill development and, most importantly, creates a pathway for professional development and progression. The Center of Excellence provides training within a standard, common tool suite that allows for speed, productivity and integration while facilitating compliance and focusing on program execution.

The Program Planning Analyst /Scheduler interfaces with Program Managers, Engineering, Operations and Business Management to develop program plans and schedules. The selected candidate will prepare, maintain, and analyze a program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) which incorporates all program scope and identifies program milestones with contractual need dates.

The Program Planning Analyst /Scheduler works with Control Account Managers to decompose program scope into clearly defined tasks, identifies internal and external task dependencies, analyzes forecast dates impacts, and analyzes impacts to the critical path(s).

The Program Planning Analyst /Scheduler supports the business management team with developing an estimate to complete based on assessing resource requirements for scheduled tasks. This role is responsible for managing status updates, development of internal and external reports on program status and identification of risks impacting the achievability of program schedule requirements. In addition, this role will ensure compliance with applicable EVMS Guidelines.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
  • Will consider 6 years of applied experience in lieu of degree requirement
  • Some planning/scheduling related experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • The ability to travel domestically 10% of the time
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret level security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Finance, Operations Management, or related field
  • Program scheduling experience using Microsoft Project, Oracle P6, Deltek Open Plan or other related scheduling tools strongly preferred
  • Experience using Schedule Health Analysis tools and Schedule Risk Assessment tools.
  • Working knowledge of EVMS guidelines and processes.
  • Current, active US Government Secret level security clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $119,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
