Job summary

After School Matters, a Chicago-based nonprofit, seeks a Program Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to the programs team within an assigned branch. You will act as a liaison between the branch, program providers, and community partners, assisting with recruitment, outreach, and coordination of program activities.

You will communicate compliance requirements, policy updates, and essential information, while managing logistics and inventories and supporting events for teens

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of administrative support experience required.
• Valid driver’s license, insured transportation, and driving record per policy preferred.
• Cook County residency required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for ASM guests, visitors, and inquiries; provide a welcoming environment.
• Manage branch inbox, Google Classroom, answer phones, and send communications to teens/parents.
• Prepare and submit reimbursements, purchase orders, and check requests for director approval.
• Provide compliance reminders and follow up on attendance, enrollment verifications, and program reports.
• Support administrative updates in Cityspan and oversee the program enhancement process.
• Assist with logistics for teen recruitment events, interviews, orientations, and professional development.
• Collect and monitor office supply orders and inventory.
