CFD Research Corporation seeks a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to bridge design, suppliers, and shop-floor execution on low-rate, flight-rated aerospace programs. In this hybrid role, you will lead hardware through Transition to Production (TTP) and drive compliance with manufacturing standards at the Hollywood, AL Engineering Test Center.

You will leverage MES and MRP systems to enhance material traceability and manage cost, schedule, and technical performance under AS9100 quality requirements.

Formación

• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering or hardware operations.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Working knowledge of MES and MRP/ERP systems.

• Transition to Production (TTP): Lead technical hardware transitions into low-rate production, establishing assembly sequences, tooling, and build documentation.
• Manufacturing Systems: Optimize and improve MES/MRP utilization throughout the design and TTP process.
• Supplier Technical Management: Partner with suppliers on technical transfers, manufacturing reviews, and component bottleneck resolution.
• Shop-Floor Leadership: Serve as the primary floor technical authority, bridging design engineering, quality, supply chain, and shop technicians.

CFD Research Corporation is seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to bridge technical design, supplier networks, and shop-floor execution on low-rate, flight-rated aerospace programs. In this hybrid role, you will lead hardware through the Transition to Production (TTP), drive compliance with manufacturing standards, and work directly with external suppliers to resolve technical build challenges. You will leverage MES and MRP systems to enhance material traceability and drive execution under AS9100 quality standards. This position is located at our new Hollywood, Alabama Engineering Test Center, located a short distance from our Headquarters in Huntsville, AL. Key Responsibilities

• Transition to Production (TTP): Lead technical hardware transitions into low-rate production, establishing assembly sequences, tooling, and build documentation.

• Shop-Floor Leadership: Serve as the primary floor technical authority, bridging design engineering, quality, supply chain, and shop technicians.

Basic Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).


• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering or hardware operations.


• Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and possess the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.


• Working knowledge of MES and MRP/ERP systems.

Desired Qualifications

• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.


• Experience working in regulated quality environments (e.g., AS9100 or ISO 9001).


• MRB disposition authority and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) experience.


• 3D CAD proficiency (preferably SolidWorks) with DFM/DFA and GD&T experience.


• Hands-on TTP execution and Technical Transfer Package management.


• Experience tracking and managing cost, schedule, and technical performance for manufacturing deliverables.


• Familiarity with MRL frameworks and AS6500 checklists.


• Track record of optimizing MES/MRP workflows for shop-floor efficiency.


• Direct supplier technical interface experience on low-rate, high-reliability flight hardware.

Location

This role is based in Hollywood, AL, and is 100% onsite.
