Job summary

The Belk Foundation in Charlotte, NC seeks a Program Officer to help steer grants, stakeholder convenings, and board support. The role spans grants management, onboarding, learning for Rising Generation, and communications, with a focus on K-3 literacy and leadership pipelines.

This hybrid, 20-hour-per-week position offers competitive compensation at $50/hour, a compact nonprofit team, and opportunities for professional development and impact across Mecklenburg and statewide education

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s preferred.
• Knowledge of Charlotte-area and North Carolina education history, systems, organizations, leaders, and communities is required.
• At least five years of professional work experience in a nonprofit, school district, higher education, or philanthropic organization with a focus on the education sector within North Carolina is required.
• Experience in grant writing and management is preferred.
• Experience with Blackbaud grantmaking system is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Grants management, including reviewing applications and evaluating grants.
• Support planning of grantee and stakeholder convenings.
• Respond to letters of inquiry and identify new grantees.
• Improve use of the Blackbaud grantmaking system.
• Support operational efficiency in grantmaking and general operations.
