Job summary

The Paul Angell Foundation seeks a Program Officer, Economic Power to manage and strengthen its Economic Power grantmaking within the Social Impact Program. The role advances living-wage pathways, financial resilience, and small business support in Chicago and beyond.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in workforce development, grantmaking, and nonprofit program management, and thrive in a collaborative, growing philanthropic setting. Hybrid work is expected.

Qualifications

  • Seven+ years of relevant professional experience in workforce development, philanthropy, or nonprofit program management.
  • Experience engaging with communities facing barriers to economic mobility is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and grow a diverse Economic Power grants portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategy.
  • Conduct due diligence, monitor proposals, and prepare funding recommendations for leadership.
  • Build relationships with grantees, peer funders, public agencies, employers, and researchers.
  • Lead program administration, data reporting, and compliance across grants.
  • Collaborate with Director of Social Impact and team on strategic planning.
