Job summary

Sunlight Giving in Palo Alto is seeking a Program Officer to manage day-to-day relationships with applicants and grantees, perform due diligence, and contribute to grantmaking planning, budgeting, and strategy. Regular travel in Monterey, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties, with infrequent travel across Sunlight Giving’s 10-county range.

The role collaborates with nonprofits, staff, board members and external partners while monitoring local, regional, and national trends

Job description

The program officer position requires regular travel in Monterey, San Benito, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz counties and infrequent travel across Sunlight Giving’s 10-county geographic range. The Program Officer provides day-today management of relationships with applicants and grantees, performs due diligence on organizations, and participates in grantmaking planning, budgeting, and strategy. The Program Officer works closely with nonprofits, staff, board members, and external partners and monitors local, regional, and national trends related to children and families, poverty and safety net services.
