Job summary

Abode Services in San Jose, CA seeks a Program Manager for its Veterans Shelter program to lead a multidisciplinary team. You will supervise staff, coordinate housing stability plans, and ensure wraparound services while managing budgets and public contracts.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with several years in human services, strong leadership, and crisis-intervention skills to support veterans and their families toward stable housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, social work, sociology, or related field plus equivalent experience.
• 3 years of professional experience in human services or related field with collaborative work with low-income families.
• 2 years of direct experience supervising case management for homeless or very low-income individuals.
• Valid California driver’s license, current insurance, and a clean DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of program staff and interns.
• Coordinate training, schedules, caseloads, vacations, and assignments.
• Support staff in crises and develop housing stability interventions.
• Oversee data entry and reporting to funders and stakeholders.
• Monitor contracts for funding, deliverables, and audits.
• Develop policies, materials, and tools; facilitate meetings.
