Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Program Manager/Staff Officer to support the Simulator Division (AFLCMC/WNS) and provide staff action and program coordination for AF Global Strike Command. Duty location is Barksdale AFB, LA.

You will lead program execution across defense efforts, coordinate tasks, and ensure timely, aligned outcomes with USAF processes. The role demands 10+ years of DoD/USAF experience, TS/SCI clearance, and strong collaboration across engineering, logistics, security, and operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Program Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting DoD, USAF, or similar government programs.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple organizations or stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage program cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional teams.
  • Experience preparing briefings, reports, or staff packages for leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Staff Action Officer (SAO), coordinating taskings, communications, and decision support.
  • Develop, route, track, and close staff packages in alignment with USAF processes and timelines.
  • Facilitate collaboration across engineering, logistics, acquisition, security, and operations teams.
  • Coordinate activities across AFLCMC, AFGSC, and other mission partners for timely execution.
  • Support planning and execution of facilities, infrastructure, and mission systems programs.
  • Assist with requirements development, documentation, and program planning activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, project discussions, and cross-functional working groups as needed.
  • Identify program risks and issues and devise mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver briefings, status updates, and leadership materials.
  • Promote a team-oriented environment enabling efficient communication and problem-solving.

KBR is seeking a Program Manager/Staff Officer to support the Simulator Division (AFLCMC/WNS) and provide staff action and program coordination support to Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). Duty location Barksdale AFB, LA. The ideal candidate will bring strong program management and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively across organizations, facilitate communication, and drive execution of complex initiatives. While familiarity with facility or infrastructure programs is helpful, success in this role depends on collaboration, adaptability, and the ability to navigate Air Force processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead program execution across WNS and AFGSC efforts, managing cost, schedule, performance, and risk.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Program Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting DoD, USAF, or similar government programs.
  • Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple organizations or stakeholders in a program or project environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage program cost, schedule, and performance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Experience preparing briefings, reports, or staff packages for leadership.
  • Familiarity with structured processes and documentation in a government or regulated environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Ability to work at Barksdale AFB, LA.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience serving as a Staff Action Officer (SAO) or supporting MAJCOM-level staffing processes.
  • Familiarity with USAF Civil Engineering (CE) processes or facility/infrastructure programs.
  • Experience supporting MILCON, facility sustainment, or construction-related projects.
  • Experience preparing DD Form 1391 or similar programming documentation.
  • Exposure to design review processes for government projects.
  • Familiarity with secure facility requirements (e.g., SCIF planning, ICD 705, or similar standards).
  • Experience supporting AFGSC, AFLCMC, or similar organizations.
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline.
  • PMP or DAWIA certification.
  • Familiarity with budgeting or long-range planning processes (e.g., POM).
  • Experience with fixed winged aircraft.
