The general salary range for this position is $63,400 – 95,200. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training, and education.

Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking a Program Manager, Partnerships and Community Engagement for the Outreach, Engagement and Training department. The purpose of the position is to develop and implement outreach initiatives and build, manage and grow relationships with diverse communities, sectors, and individuals across the U.S. to advance our programs and policy efforts, help build a stronger movement, and advance our mission. Coordinate with global staff focused on community building and belonging to ensure national alignment with global strategy.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement U.S. outreach strategy to engage diverse communities, sectors, and individuals including creating and implementing programs and policy involvement to broaden community engagement and support departmental goals;
• Identify gaps in U.S. program outreach efforts and serve as a bridge to coordinate strategies to strengthen connections with underrepresented individuals and groups to advance our work. Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with individuals, community leaders, and organizations to facilitate collaboration and shared goals;
• Oversee current U.S. community building initiatives, to include budgeting, implementation, strategy, and growth;
• Collaborate with other staff and departments and engage in cross-departmental planning projects and meetings to ensure alignment, communication and smooth execution of initiatives. Proactively seek out opportunities to support the broader program and policy work in the US, with an emphasis on high priority initiatives;
• Identify emerging needs, opportunities, and challenges in underserved and underrepresented communities and provide recommendations to inform outreach strategies;
• Represent the organization at meetings, conferences and public forums, including delivering presentations and facilitating discussions;
• Perform other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in public affairs, public relations, communication, public administration, social work, human resources, a related field, or equivalent work experience required.
• Knowledge in community affairs, public speaking, event planning, coalition building, or participatory approaches preferred and familiarity with both urban and rural community contexts preferred;
• A minimum of 5 years of experience, and demonstrated interest in outreach and engagement, animal protection, and related field;
• Extensive knowledge of community outreach and training;
• Demonstrated success building trust with diverse communities, especially those historically underrepresented or marginalized;
• Strong cultural competence and commitment to equity and inclusion;
• Must be willing and able to travel;
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines; high energy, self-motivated and proactive;
• Ability to manage issues requiring problem resolution and conflict management with excellent interpersonal and intervention skills;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Knowledge of business operations, including effective budget development and management processes;
• Attention to detail and commitment to excellence, demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes;
• Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred;
