Job summary

A mechanical engineering firm located in Spokane Valley seeks a Program Manager / Mechanical Engineering Project Manager to oversee project development and manage engineering resources. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 to 10 years of experience in HVAC systems or energy retrofit design. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Revit are essential. The position offers a competitive salary of $105,000 to $130,000 annually.

Location: Spokane office

Wage: $105,000 to $130,000

Program Manager / Mechanical Engineering Project Manager
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the project development and engineering resources on a per project basis. Manage client expectations.
  • Create, manage, and develop the scope of work, mechanical design documents for the client approved projects getting implemented.
  • Manage other design principles per project. Manage and run design team coordination meetings and ensure the design is staying on schedule.
  • Work with the assigned construction manager to build the Guaranteed Maximum Construction Costs (GMAX) for projects.
  • Assist the sales team in client meetings and presentations.
  • Manage engineering project teammates and provide coaching and mentoring in their career development.
  • Create, manage, and oversee the budgets for the Investment Grade Audits, and/or Pre-Construction Services Proposals, and the Mechanical Design Budgets.
  • Specify equipment, review/approve equipment submittals, O&M Manuals, and create record drawings from the red lines.
  • Review the assumptions and methodologies used in building the guaranteed energy savings, and review and understand the IPMVP used for the post retrofit measurements that will be used to prove out the energy savings.
  • Oversee the pre-retrofit M&V measurements for the energy guarantee.
  • Manage project schedules and communicate changes in a dynamic environment.
  • Maintain clear and concise verbal and written communications with the client.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong written communication and presentation skills.
  • Willing to work and thrive in team atmosphere.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent required.
  • PE preferred, EIT required with intent to pursue their PE a plus.
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in HVAC Mechanical Systems Design, or Energy Services Performance Contracting, or Energy Retrofit Design/Build project development required.
