The Business Enablement team within Worldwide Grocery Stores (WWGS) Central Merchandising Operations org is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead clearance and markdown operations across our omnichannel grocery business. In this role, you will own the development and maintenance of standardized clearance and markdown processes, ensuring category teams have clear SOPs and operational guidelines to optimize inventory health while maximizing profitability. You will maintain a high bar for markdown operational excellence, working cross‑functionally with Category Managers, Instock, Finance, and Analytics teams to deliver effective inventory optimization strategies across both in‑store and online channels. The Business Enablement team serves as the cornerstone of WWGS's unified retail strategy, connecting business needs with technical solutions and establishing a framework that enables strategic decision‑making. This role is critical to ensuring clearance and markdown operations run smoothly, efficiently, and at scale across the grocery network.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive SOPs for clearance and markdown processes, ensuring category teams have clear operational guidelines for inventory optimization decisions
  • Lead proactive quality audits of markdown operations to ensure optimal inventory health and profitability outcomes
  • Execute manual corrective actions and coordinate with Instock teams to design automated mechanisms that optimize markdown timing and depth
  • Translate business requirements into clearly documented BRDs for markdown tool enhancements, facilitating seamless communication between business and technology teams
  • Coordinate UAT participation for markdown system updates, ensuring business requirements are met
  • Partner with Merch Ops Central Analytics to define dashboard requirements that enable category teams to monitor markdown performance and inventory health metrics
  • Build roadmaps to improve clearance and markdown operational efficiency through process optimization and automation
  • Contribute to leadership reviews reporting on markdown operational health, inventory optimization metrics, and profitability impact
  • Document best practices for markdown execution and create training materials to drive adoption of standardized processes across category teams
  • Partner with Finance team to ensure markdown strategies align with profitability targets and margin health objectives
  • Consult with category teams to ensure markdown initiatives balance inventory optimization with long‑term margin health
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with tech and non‑tech teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
  • Experience defining pricing, promotion, and/or markdown strategy for a retail business

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
