Job summary

Georgia Tech’s Joint Center for Real Estate seeks a Program Manager to coordinate program definitions, budgets, schedules, and deliverables across industry and academic partners. This role requires strong communication and leadership to ensure successful program outcomes.

You will work with executive leadership, faculty, and industry sponsors to align objectives, manage resources, and support strategic initiatives within the Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; three or more years of related experience preferred.
• Project management certifications (PMP/CAPM) are a plus.
• Master's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation of program definitions, budgets, work breakdowns, rough order estimates, program plans, communication plans, and program schedules to determine scope of work for assigned programs
• Coordinate, resolve, or assist in resolution of conflicts and other issues within and between program teams and recommend/provide solutions
• Research and recommend program management policies, principles, and practices
• Implement best practices and process improvements to manage scope, program activities, program schedule, budget, issues, and risks
• Facilitate and/or conduct feasibility studies for programs and requests for proposals and make recommendations on selections
• Interact regularly with program sponsors and stakeholders; use appropriate program management strategies to implement requirements across various programs and initiatives
• Conduct program management activities such as communicating with resource managers, team leads, etc., to track program milestones and keep the focus on delivering program commitments
• May research and recommend tools for automated program management
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Department Information

The Joint Center for Real Estate at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for a position of Program Manager. The intention is to engage a distinguished professional with a record of work in real estate and academia. Experience with academic center operations or business units is desired. The Program Manager will work under the direction of an Industry Advisory Board with direct reporting to the Executive Director of the Center when appointed. Prior to the appointment with direct reporting to academic leadership in the College of Design and the Scheller College of Business. The position is a 100%FTE appointment as articulated by the University System of Georgia and the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Job Summary

The Program Manager works with many levels of leadership and staff to manage program efforts based on industry best practices; works as the single point of contact for facilitation and communication of program goals, deliverables, and schedules, and must be an excellent communicator; various levels of documentation will be produced at each stage of the program and the program manager is often the person who creates these with input from others. Other Information

• Formalize the creation of the Center operational and programmatic budgets based upon the Joint Center 3 year plan and draft budgets prepared by the Faculty Advisors along with the Industry Advisory Board
• Schedule and organize regular meetings of the Faculty Advisors and the Industry Advisory Board including the creation of appropriate agendas for each as well as manage the daily operation of the Center until such time as an Executive Director shall be hired at which time these duties will be shared
• Create a policy manual for the Joint Center for Real Estate outlining an Executive Director model with academic oversight by the Academic Advisory Board and vision oversight by the Industry Advisory Board
• Work with Academic Advisors from the appropriate Colleges to create a clearinghouse of real estate related academic offerings across Georgia Tech and a process by which to keep students informed of the majors, minors, and courses available
• Facilitate and/or conduct feasibility studies for real estate related research proposals and requests to be reviewed and approved by the Academic Advisory Committee
• Interact regularly with faculty and industry stakeholders and sponsors to promote Georgia Tech Real Estate to potential students and potential industry supporters
• Organize a plan to provide support, management, and oversight of the Georgia Tech Real Estate Club and the Georgia Tech Real Estate Network along with any subsidiary groups associated with either
• Establish the Program Manager position as the point of contact for current trade relationships with CoStar, Argus, and ULI while establishing new trade group opportunities for student memberships and competitions
• With input from the Faculty Advisors and Industry Advisors lead the organization and implementation of an annual Joint Center for Real Estate Conference
