Job Summary

The Research Program Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing research programs, initiatives, and projects to support research objectives and goals. They collaborate with research teams, stakeholders, and partners to define program scope, manage resources, monitor progress, and ensure successful implementation and outcomes. Sets performance goals, participates in evaluations, provides feedback, and informs compensation decisions.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -

Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful implementation and compliance with funding requirements in the administration of research programs

Job Duty 2 -

Establish relationships with external stakeholders and funding agencies by communicating program objectives and progress to ensure alignment and support for research initiatives

Job Duty 3 -

Facilitate research activities by organizing meetings and discussions among researchers and collaborators to foster effective communication and collaboration

Job Duty 4 -

Track program performance by monitoring key performance indicators and preparing regular reports that summarize progress, challenges, and outcomes for senior management

Job Duty 5 -

Provide support to researchers in the preparation of grant proposals by offering guidance on compliance and aligning proposals with institutional priorities and funding opportunities

Job Duty 6 -

Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness by analyzing data and feedback from participants to recommend improvements and enhance program impact

Job Duty 7 -

Stay informed about trends and developments in the research field by attending conferences and participating in professional organizations to enhance program relevance and effectiveness

Job Duty 8 -

Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulations by reviewing research protocols and documentation to maintain ethical standards and proper record-keeping

Job Duty 9 -

Assist in the development of training materials for researchers by creating resources that promote best practices and enhance the overall quality of research conducted within the program

Job Duty 10 -

Perform Other Job-related Duties As Assigned.

Research Program Manager ¿ Preferred Qualifications
  • Preparing proposal budgets, budget narratives, and collecting financial documents required by the sponsor (federal, academia, and industry) for proposal submissions
  • Developing timelines for proposal submissions
  • Coordinating with faculty, OSP, subawardees, and co-PIs to collect required materials in a timely manner
  • Familiarity with eRouting is important Award & Subaward Administration:
  • Work with the Office of Sponsored Programs to set up awards and subawards
  • Familiarity with CIS, Workday, LITE, and Tableau reports is important Post-Award Management:Manage multiple faculty¿s finance portfolioEnsure compliance with Sponsor Terms & Conditions and GT Policy while approving financial transactions in WorkdayManage purchasing, expense reports, reporting, and sponsor-required documentationMonitor spending and provide financial feedback to facultyPrepare JEs, accounting adjustments, budget amendments, etc. in WorkdayFinancial projections and analysis to ensure clean closeoutsResearch Program Manager - Skills Required:
