A leading non-profit organization focused on robotics education and competitions is seeking a dedicated professional to support multiple programs. The role encompasses responsibilities such as program support, communication with stakeholders, event management, and collaboration with various departments. Ideal candidates will hold a bachelor's degree and have experience in educational settings, particularly in robotics or STEM-related fields. This full-time position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in youth education through robotics.
Staff members of the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation have energy and passion for the mission and vision of the REC Foundation. This position is primarily responsible for supporting designated REC Foundation program(s) through the execution and expansion of said programs, while also providing valuable resources and assistance to key stakeholders involved.
There are multiple Subject Matter Expert (SME) addendums that may serve in conjunction with this job description. If applicable, these addendums will be reviewed and signed in addition to this job description.
Responsibilities
Provide support for the designated program(s) to support the strategic direction of the organization
Maintain regular communications with REC Foundation staff and customers as necessary
Assist with the development of training documents for the REC Library
Collect, communicate, and document best practices for event and team support
Assist with program specific projects and initiatives (Workshops, Coach/EP Trainings and Summits, etc.)
Assist with the development of program specific communications
Participate in project teams focused on program-specific initiatives
Identify advocacy opportunities and work with REC Foundation staff as necessary
Collaborate with all REC Foundation departments to ensure proper planning and dissemination of information
Maintain regular communications with Directors and other REC Foundation staff as needed via periodic meetings
Assist with collection, analysis, and reporting of data to evaluate REC Foundation programs
Remain up to date on current on designated program(s) and be available for training support as necessary
JROTC Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional customer service to JROTC Cadet Command Directorate and all military branches
Anticipate and troubleshoot customers’ needs to provide an outstanding experience
Assist and provide support to customers when there are questions regarding the programs or events
Maintain regular communications with the REC Foundation staff and JROTC customers
Provide oversight and review of all JROTC related contracts to ensure fair representation of all REC Foundation programs
Create team and event support materials that are specific to the JROTC program and are in line with the current competition structure
Collaborate with Directors to develop JROTC Team retention and growth goals and strategies
Coordinate with RECF staff to process Team Registrations included in JROTC contracts
Collect, communicate, and document best practices
Manage all JROTC National Championship events including event support and the qualification process
Provide event support on-site or on-call in coordination with Regional Support Managers, and JROTC Leadership.
Assist with the collection of data to evaluate REC Foundation programs
Provide continual feedback to help maintain program integrity
Maintain regular communications with competition partners, including, but not limited to VEX Robotics, Robolink, Competition Drone Gates, College Options, etc.
Attend and support JROTC Events including, but not limited to: JLAB, Brigade Workshops, Brigade Competitions, National Championships, JSOC, Raider, Training Courses, Brigade trainings (when requested by JROTC), and other JROTC-related events
Other Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned
Adhere to the Student-Centered, Code of Conduct, Youth Protection, and Commitment to Event Excellence policies
Deliver exceptional customer service to RECF customers
Uphold organization policies and standards, including but not limited to policies found in the Employee Handbook
Ensure and maintain an ethical, trusting, inclusive, and productive work environment
Provide continual feedback to help maintain program integrity
Track and compile individual expense reports on a monthly basis ensuring timely submission
Maintain knowledge of STEM education initiatives and trends.
Additional Information
Job Type Information: Full Time | Salaried | Exempt
Primary Location : Remote or in office
Schedule: Typically 40 hours per week Monday - Friday (hours should incorporate the REC Foundation’s Core Hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in your time zone); Specific schedules will be discussed with your direct manager
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; background in teaching, educational robotics, and/or other educational capacity highly desired
Experienced in a work from home setting with demonstrated success in remote work
Proactive problem-solving skills that lead to innovative thinking and resolutions
Ability to interface on a professional level with a variety of customers (co-workers, sponsors, customers, etc.)
Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office products
Excellent written and verbal skills; English fluency is required
Computer competency and ability to learn new programs
Skilled in setting priorities to manage varying tasks/projects and time management
Maintain security and confidentiality of sensitive information
Travel Requirements
Attendance at the annual VEX Robotics World Championship for the full duration
Duration: 10-12 days, depending on the event configuration and your specifically assigned duties
Timeframe: April/May (dates vary)
Location: 2025 - St. Louis, Missouri; Future Dates - TBD (the location typically changes every 4 years)
Attendance at the annual Department Summit for the full duration is required; please note that this event is typically 4-5 days depending on event configuration and your specific duties, as assigned
Willingness and ability to travel domestically (as needed and as budgets permit)
This includes, but is not limited to, the REC Foundation offices in Greenville, TX, REC Foundation events, conferences, in-person meetings, etc.
