Job Description

Responsible for managing end-to-end aircraft interior projects within an MRO environment. This includes customer communication, project planning, resource coordination, regulatory compliance, and financial performance. The role requires a strong understanding of aircraft cabin systems (seating, monuments, IFEC, soft goods, etc.), FAA/EASA regulations, and experience in program or project management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of the Interior Department to minimize delays and increase production and efficiencies.
  2. Familiar with, and make available, all necessary technical drawings, engineering data, service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and other applicable technical data.
  3. Ensure that personnel properly execute all necessary work records.
  4. Handle and preserve all parts and materials during the process within the Interior Department.
  5. Provide excellent customer service, prioritizing customer needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
  6. Collect and present quotes, pricing, and final billing information to customers.
  7. Monitor the status of customer aircraft and advise customers on current status and upcoming work.
  8. Send all necessary written communications in a timely manner.
  9. Coordinate completion dates across various steps of installation or modification projects.
  10. Provide leadership to the Interior Department.
  11. Lead aircraft interior modification or refurbishment programs from initiation to delivery.
  12. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  13. Align projects with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards.
  14. Serve as the primary contact for customers during program execution.
  15. Provide regular updates, address concerns, and manage expectations.
  16. Ensure modifications or repairs comply with FAA, EASA, and OEM standards.
  17. Coordinate with certification teams for STCs, DER approvals, and other regulatory requirements.
  18. Promote market-based management and performance development within the Interior Department.

Supervisory Accountabilities: 2-3 Team Leaders, 15-25 employees

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, technical training in aviation, and 5-7 years of experience in aircraft interiors. Some supervisory experience required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Airport Authority requirements for badge issuance without ramp restrictions.

Communication Skills:

Ability to read, comprehend, and produce clear correspondence and present information effectively in various group settings.

Mathematical Skills:

Proficiency in basic arithmetic, ratios, percentages, and understanding financial statements.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, analyze data, and interpret technical instructions and diagrams.

Budget Responsibility:

Ability to manage a departmental budget.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
