Job summary

ORBIS Inc. is seeking a skilled project manager in the Philadelphia area to support Navy steam systems programs. You will oversee engineering instructions and Ship Change Documents (SCDs) for ships and facilities, coordinating with Naval commands, shipyards, and maintenance centers.

The ideal candidate has five years of experience managing complex technical projects, a BS in engineering, U.S. citizenship, and an active secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience managing complex naval engineering projects and Ship Change Documents.
• Five years in engineering functions for US Navy Steam Propulsion Plants and related systems.
• Experience with US Navy technical procedures and coordination with Navy commands, shipyards and maintenance organizations.

Job Description

This position supports Code 412 which is responsible for the engineering and logistics support of the steam systems of numerous Navy vessels and facilities.

• NSWCPD Steam Systems Safety and Reliability Program
• Amphibious Ship Steam Propulsion Plant Readiness and Safety Program
• LCC-19 Extended Service Life Program (ESLP)
• Surface Ship HM&E Sustainment Program
• LHD Midlife Program
• DOD Facilities Inspection Program

Skills and Experience

• Five (5) years' experience managing complex technical projects including engineering instructions or Ship Change Documents (SCDs) for Ships.
• Five (5) years of specialized experience managing engineering functions and processes for US Navy Ship Steam Propulsion Plants and associated equipment, piping and systems.
• Possess experience with US Navy Technical procedures, and working with other organizations such as Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Naval Shipyards, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, Regional Maintenance Centers and Type Commander Organizations.

Degree Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• A secret security clearance
