About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The Pixel Software team is responsible for the core software running on Pixel Phones and Tablets. Our team comprises major software subsystems. We work with Software and Hardware teams from concept to launch to deliver new products on time. If working with cross-functional groups and driving exciting new products to market is what you are looking for, then this is the team and the role for you.

As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing planning and execution of product features on Pixel devices. You will work with our cross-functional Hardware, Software, and Product management teams, as well as external Pixel partners, collaborating across geographies to deliver high-quality features to our users.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes integrating Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative user experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Manage complex and large-scale software projects, working with multiple teams on cross-functional initiatives. Interface with Engineering and Technical Program Managers across hardware and software to estimate efforts, define milestones, and manage resources.
  • Own planning, scheduling, and execution for milestones, considering overall project deliverables, prioritizing features, securing cross-functional support, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Focus on user experience and advocate for quality internally and with external partners to maintain a high-quality product.
  • Understand technical implementation at the architecture level to inform planning and decision-making. Ask clarifying questions about priorities.
  • Coordinate with leads and partners to ensure software and roadmap feature alignment for current and future programs.
