Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in project or program management in A&D.
  • 3+ years leading medium-scale projects (1–2 years) with 5+ cross-functional staff.
  • Experience evaluating proposals and/or quotes.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and program lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee program cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk.
  • Represent SNC at customer meetings; primary customer contact.
  • Ensure responsiveness to customer actions and inquiries.
  • Coordinate with contracts representatives on program requirements and schedule.
  • Resource and coordinate cross-functional teams across facilities.
  • Brief program status (cost/schedule/technical/risk) to executives.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Chief Engineer on roadmaps.
  • Grow the Product Line and Business Unit through program leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with SNC policies and procedures.

Job description

As a Program Manager II at SNC, you will oversee the integration and management of multiple complex projects and major systems, ensuring successful customer relationships, cost control, scheduling, and technical execution. Managing programs with budgets of $20M or more, you will supervise project staff, handle high-risk cost and schedule considerations, and lead proposal tasks from initial customer interaction through contract award.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:
  • As the Program Manager you will be responsible for program cost, schedule, technical, and risk
  • You will represent SNC at Customer meetings and be the primary point of contact for the Customer
  • Customer focus is paramount and your responsiveness to customer actions and inquires will take the highest priority
  • A solid foundation in Government contractual requirements related to program execution, cost, requirements, and schedule is required. You will be required to collaborate with the SNC contracts and Government contracts representatives
  • You will manage cross functional teams,located at various facilities, and ensure the program is adequately resourced to ensure program success
  • You will analyze program metrics and indicators to identify issues and formulate mitigation strategies. Program status inclusive of cost, schedule, technical, and risk will be brief at the Executive levels.
  • You will work with Business Development and Chief
  • Engineer to develop and maintain the Product Line strategic road map.
  • You will be responsible in the growth the Product Line and Business Unit business base
  • You will ensure the program and team are compliant to SNC policies and procedures
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, Management, Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in project or program management in the Aerospace and Defense (A&D) industry.
  • 3+ years leading medium scale projects; scope spanning 1-2 years, while leading teams made up of 5+ cross functional team members.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience is required.
  • Experience with the evaluation of requests for proposals and/or quotes. Experience with preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes.
  • Experience with managing a complex project or larger program.
  • Experience in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and literacy in the program management disciplines.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible.
  • Requires ability to execute coordination of all elements of a program, i.e., Program integration management.
  • Perform task coordination, resource development, stakeholder identification, etc.
  • Capability to manage program lifecycle conflicts, prioritize competing priorities/requests, and evaluate available resources.
  • Requires ability to identify, assess, and control financial, technical, and legal risks.
  • Proficient leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, and conducting yearly reviews.
  • Requires ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire your team, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge status quo, and demonstrate the ability to adapt to dynamic situations.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification (will not be considered in lieu of required experience.)
  • Advanced degree in Business, Management, Engineering or related field
  • Understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Managing projects using Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), agile and or spiral development models.
  • Managing projects requiring Earned Value Management.
  • Understanding with application tools and data architectures.
  • Ability to reinforce the usage & application of Corporate PM tools.
  • Ability to participate in program management (PM) process & tool improvement initiatives for the Business Area.
  • Ability to keep program management informed of function & process changes within project controls.
