Position Overview
Department of Aging and Adult Services - Public Guardian is recruiting for Program Manager I for the Age Wise Program, a seven-time national award-winning behavioral health and wellness program serving the older adult community throughout San Bernardino County.
Responsibilities
Program Manager will manage a key program component and assist in planning and organizing a comprehensive behavioral health program; prepare, monitor, and enforce contracts with behavioral health service providers; and provide clinical and/or administrative supervision.
Conditions of Employment
- Background Investigation: must pass background investigation including fingerprinting, credit check, and/or medical exam prior to appointment.
- Travel: travel throughout the County may be required; employees may need to use personal vehicles with mileage reimbursement available. Must provide a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance at the time of hire.
- License: requires licensure as a Clinical Social Worker.
- Training: must complete forty (40) units of CA State Association of Public Administrators, Public Guardian, and Public Conservators training within a four (4) year period.
- Sponsorship: County will not consider candidates requiring visa sponsorship.
- Work Location: assigned to Office of the Public Guardian, 686 E. Mill St. San Bernardino, CA 92415-0647. The office location may change.
Minimum Requirements
- License: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Provide license information on the supplemental questionnaire.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in behavioral or social science, healthcare administration, human services, public/business administration, legal studies, or a related field.
- Experience: Two (2) years full-time professional-level administrative, clinical, and/or supervisory experience, including one (1) year working within a mental health system in areas such as program development, policy, compliance, data analysis, contract monitoring, or budget administration.
- Master’s degree may substitute for up to one (1) year of required experience, with one (1) year in a mental health system.
