Job summary

Marvin Group is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support the Launch Systems PMO. This entry-to-mid level role involves assisting the Program Manager with budgets, contracts, and cross‑functional coordination across sales, contracts, and engineering.

You will help prepare program updates and metrics, interact with internal teams and customers, and travel for meetings and events as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of applicable experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and ability to meet federal access requirements.
  • Experience in military, defense, or aerospace fields is highly desirable.
  • Ability to support cross-functional programs with strong organization and communication.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • MS Office proficiency; SAP experience is preferred.
  • ITAR requirements as a U.S. person.

Responsibilities

  • Support the assigned Program Manager in managing budgets, reporting, and product-line responsibilities.
  • Review contracts, purchase orders, and amendments under guidance.
  • Assist in proposal and pricing activities; gather inputs for pricing and lead-time.
  • Collaborate across sales, contracts, supply chain, production, operations, and engineering.
  • Build productive relationships with internal teams and customers.
  • Prepare program updates and financial metrics for reviews.
  • Represent the program in the absence of the Program Manager; attend meetings.
  • Travel to customer sites, trade shows, or conferences as required.

SUMMARY:
Deputy Program Manager, Launch Systems PMO

Marvin Engineering Company (MEC), a long-standing defense contractor supporting all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to support our Launch Systems PMO. For more than 60 years, MEC has partnered with major prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, SAAB, and KAI on a wide range of aerospace and defense platforms. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a developing program management professional to work alongside and in direct support of an assigned Program Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the assigned Program Manager in managing all aspects of assigned contracts, including budget tracking, reporting, and adherence to product line responsibilities. Exposure to or interest in Earned Value Management (EVM) is preferred.
  • Take direction from the Program Manager and assist in reviewing contracts, purchase orders, and contract amendments.
  • Support proposal and quoting activities, including gathering inputs for pricing and lead-time assessments.
  • Collaborate across functional groups - sales development, contracts, supply chain, production planning, operations, machining, quality, and engineering to ensure on-time product delivery.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with internal teams and, under the Program Manager’s guidance, external customers.
  • Help prepare program updates and financial metrics for executive, PMO, and customer reviews.
  • Represent the program and act on behalf of the Program Manager in their absence, as directed, including attending internal and customer meetings and relaying program status.
  • Travel to customer sites, trade shows, or conferences as required.
  • Execute all duties in compliance with MEC policies and procedures.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or 2+ years of directly applicable experience; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required, along with the ability to meet federal government access requirements for controlled unclassified information.
  • Experience in the military, defense, or aerospace fields—particularly involving U.S. fighter, bomber, or helicopter platforms, or defense weapon systems is highly desirable.
  • Developing ability to support cross-functional programs and resources; strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills with a willingness to learn under the direction of an experienced Program Manager.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • SAP experience highly desired; proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Program Management, Purchasing Management, Production & Inventory Control) are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple programs.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must meet ITAR requirements as a "U.S. person" (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee).
