Job description

The LCCL manages a diverse portfolio of community-based initiatives—including reentry, community violence intervention and prevention, victim services, behavioral health and wellness, and other community reinvestment efforts—and Program Managers may support one or several of these initiatives based on organizational needs. Success in this role requires strong ownership and follow-through: proactively managing responsibilities, maintaining consistent engagement with partners, documenting work, anticipating needs, identifying concerns early, and communicating clearly when additional support or direction is needed.

This is not a behind-the-scenes role. It is a customer- and client-facing position. You’ll be in the field—building relationships, conducting regular site visits, facilitating courageous conversations, translating data into action, troubleshooting implementation challenges, and helping community partners strengthen both their programs and organizational infrastructure. You’ll also serve as a thought partner within the LCCL team, helping ensure programmatic alignment, accountability, equity, and innovation across multiple grants and initiatives. The right person will be equally comfortable sitting at a table with a grassroots community leader, facilitating a conversation with frontline staff, reviewing program data and grant requirements, and representing LCCL with government agencies and funders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with a portfolio of community-based organizations (CBOs) or community partners.
  • Provide technical assistance and coaching to support community partners in areas such as data collection, program implementation, sustainability, and leadership development.
  • Facilitate engaging, strengths-based site visits with community partners, offering actionable feedback and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Support partners in aligning their practices with contract requirements without losing sight of their mission or values.
Program Oversight & Grant Management
  • Monitor performance and compliance across assigned programs and contracts.
  • Review reports, spending trends, and deliverables to help community partners stay on track.
  • Identify red flags, risks, or capacity gaps and co-create solutions with community partners.
  • Translate grant language into real-world implementation tools for frontline staff and leadership.
  • Work across systems (e.g., parole, state departments, funders) to support alignment and mutual understanding.
  • Act as a liaison between grassroots providers and institutional partners to ensure policies and practices reflect lived realities.
  • Represent LCCL in collaborative efforts, learning communities, and strategic working groups.
Training & Facilitation
  • Support the design and facilitation of learning sessions, peer exchanges, and communities of practice.

  • Demonstrated ability to build trust across lines of difference and power—especially between grassroots organizations and government systems.
  • Reliable transportation is required for regular on-location, metro-area travel and in-person meetings.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and training experience, including technical assistance and site visits.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple programs, partners, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining strong follow-through, documentation, calendar management, and communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Familiarity with grant compliance, contract administration, and monitoring practices (state, federal, or philanthropic).
  • Knowledge of program management, financial management, and budgeting principles.
  • Understanding of public administration, organizational management, and systems thinking (bridging policy and practice).
  • Lived experience, professional experience, or demonstrated understanding of one or more of the communities and systems connected to LCCL's work, including reentry, community violence intervention and prevention, victim services, behavioral health, homelessness, trauma-informed services, and grassroots or faith-based community organizations.
