This full-time, remote, exempt-salaried role supports ZERO’s mission by leading community outreach and health equity initiatives to expand access to education, screening, and support services in historically underserved communities. The Program Manager will design, manage, and evaluate programs, track outcomes, and report impact, while cultivating partnerships with healthcare systems, funders, and community leaders to ensure programs are sustainable and scalable and aligned with ZERO’s Blitz the Barriers initiative.

Job Summary

The Program Manager, Community Outreach will play a vital role in advancing ZERO’s health equity efforts by designing, managing, and evaluating programs that expand access to lifesaving prostate cancer education, screening, and support services in historically underserved communities. The Manager will oversee the development and execution of outreach initiatives, track outcomes, and prepare reports to demonstrate impact. By cultivating partnerships with healthcare systems, funders, and community leaders, this role ensures programs are sustainable, scalable, and aligned with ZERO’s Blitz the Barriers initiative. The Manager will work closely with internal teams to coordinate national and regional strategies, ensuring resources are deployed effectively and outreach efforts meet measurable goals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Program Strategy & Development
    • Design, manage, and evaluate outreach programs that expand access to prostate cancer education, screening, and support services.
    • Translate community needs and feedback into program strategies that advance ZERO’s Blitz the Barriers initiative.
    • Develop work plans, timelines, and goals to ensure effective program delivery.
  2. Program Oversight & Reporting
    • Oversee the implementation of outreach initiatives in collaboration with internal teams (Patient Navigation, Measurement & Evaluation, and Communications).
    • Track program outcomes and KPIs to measure effectiveness and impact.
    • Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership, funders, and stakeholders.
  3. Partnership Management
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with healthcare systems, funders, and community leaders to strengthen program reach and sustainability.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration with FQHCs, clinics, and other partners to scale prostate cancer programs.
    • Serve as a liaison with external partners to align program activities with local and national health equity efforts.
  4. Resource & Grant Support
    • Support grant proposals, funder reports, and compliance requirements by providing programmatic data and impact narratives.
    • Assist in budget tracking and resource allocation for community outreach programs.
    • Collaborate with the Development team to identify opportunities for program funding and sustainability.
  5. Internal Collaboration
    • Work closely with national and regional staff to align local programs with ZERO’s overall strategy.
    • Participate in cross-team meetings to share best practices, program learnings, and innovations.
    • Contribute to the development of communication materials that highlight program impact and outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in public health program management, nonprofit program coordination, or community health initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate programs, with a strong commitment to advancing health equity.
  • Experience working with diverse and underserved communities, with cultural humility and sensitivity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and comfort with data tracking, reporting, and presentation tools.
  • Passion for ZERO’s mission and dedication to reducing disparities in prostate cancer outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in health education or cancer prevention outreach.
  • Bilingual or multilingual communication skills are a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams/departments.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant use of a computer and other office productivity equipment.
  • Prolonged periods of a stationary position at least 50% of the time.

This role will report directly to the Director, Community Outreach & Engagement and will work closely with the Outreach & Engagement team to support ZERO’s mission. This position is based remotely and candidates may live in any area within the United States. The role requires nationwide travel approximately 25% of the time.
